Elliot CooperstoneManaging Partner
Elliot Cooperstone is the Founder and Managing Partner of InTandem Capital. The firm made investments in healthcare services companies exclusively with CI Capital Partners from 2011 to 2015. In 2013, Mr. Cooperstone worked with CI Capital on the acquisition of Pivot Physical Therapy. Pivot has over 100 physical therapy and occupational health clinics. InTandem co-invested with CI Capital in the company and Mr. Cooperstone became the company’s non-executive chairman.
In 2011, Mr. Cooperstone identified the opportunity to acquire Interactive Health, a biometric screening and worksite wellness company, based on his role as chief executive officer of a former CI Capital portfolio company which had a commercial relationship with Interactive Health. InTandem co-invested with CI Capital in the company and Mr. Cooperstone became the company’s non-executive chairman, and worked with CI Capital on the sale of the company in 2015.
Mr. Cooperstone was previously CEO of Prodigy Health Group, Inc., a health plan services company acquired in 2011 by Aetna Inc. Mr. Cooperstone joined Prodigy Health in 2004 after identifying and participating in the acquisition of the company with CI Capital. Prior to Prodigy Health, Mr. Cooperstone was the Vice President and General Manager of the Employer Group (ESG) at Intuit. Mr. Cooperstone joined Intuit in 2000 upon that company’s acquisition of EmployeeMatters, Inc., a company he co-founded in 1999 and for which he served as CEO.
Mr. Cooperstone also has prior experience with Alexander & Alexander Services Inc. and The Travelers Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cooperstone was a Director of Strategic Planning at The Walt Disney Company and spent five years with The Boston Consulting Group.
Mr. Cooperstone received common law and civil law degrees from McGill University in 1985 and an MBA from The Wharton School in 1988.
Bob Patricelli is a Partner of InTandem Capital. He is also Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Health USA, and the former Founder, Chairman and CEO of both Evolution Benefits and Value Health. Women’s Health USA provides a broad range of business services and clinical programs to physicians, with a focus on women’s health and clinically integrated IPAs. Evolution Benefits, which has now merged with Lighthouse1 to form Evolution1, was the industry leader in providing benefit debit card services for Consumer-Directed Benefits such as Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts. Evolution1 now serves over 7 million people through over 20,000 employers nationwide.
Value Health, for which Mr. Patricelli served as CEO from 1987 to 1997, was a NYSE company and the nation’s leading specialty managed care company covering 70 million lives for 6,000 customers. Mr. Patricelli also served in a variety of positions at Connecticut General Corporation and its successor, CIGNA Corporation, culminating as Executive Vice President of the parent company and president of its health care group.
Prior to CIGNA, Mr. Patricelli held appointments in numerous positions in the Federal Government, starting as a White House Fellow and serving as Minority Counsel to a U.S. Senate Subcommittee, Deputy Under Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and as Administrator of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration. Mr. Patricelli was the previous chairman of Prodigy Health Group and is a member of the boards of directors of Northeast Utilities and of a variety of not-for-profit organizations, including Newman’s Own Foundation, The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, and the Connecticut Science Center. He is also a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
Todd SquilantiManaging Director
Todd Squilanti is a Managing Director of InTandem Capital. Before InTandem, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Prodigy Health Group, now a division of Aetna. He was responsible for defining company acquisition strategy, sourcing and negotiating transactions and integration planning. He and Mr. Cooperstone have completed over 30 transactions together. Mr. Squilanti has spent most of his career investing in the healthcare services, business services and financial services industries. Earlier, he was a partner at a venture capital fund focused on business services. Before then, he served as Vice President for GE Equity, focused on private equity investments in healthcare and financial services. Mr. Squilanti has an MBA from The Wharton School and a BA from Colgate University.
Steven CohenManaging Director
Steven Cohen is a Managing Director of InTandem Capital. Prior to joining InTandem, he was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Clayton Holdings, LLC. Mr. Cohen was a leader in Clayton Holdings successful IPO and subsequent going private transaction which brought the company back to private equity ownership. Mr. Cohen has significant experience in a broad range of legal and regulatory issues including advising senior management on legal and business issues, managing contracting and M&A activities, overseeing corporate compliance and governance initiatives, and defending and pursuing commercial disputes. Previously, Mr. Cohen served as General Counsel in two companies led by Elliot Cooperstone. Mr. Cohen received a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School and a MBA in marketing from New York University- Stern School of Business.
Janice RahmManaging Director
Janice Rahm is a Managing Director of InTandem Capital. Prior to joining InTandem, she was President of HealthMine [formerly SeeChange Health], a private equity backed company that provides value-based benefit plans, administrative services and supporting technologies to employers, insurers, and third party administrators. Over a twenty-year career, Ms. Rahm is a proven innovator in product development and marketing for healthcare services companies. At Prodigy Health Group, her creative product designs allowed the company to establish early leadership in the then nascent health and wellness arena. Ms. Rahm has been one of the industry’s innovation leaders having served as a co-founder and Senior Vice President, Operations & Systems Development at Definity Health, which was a pioneer in consumer directed health plans and successfully sold to United Healthcare in 2004. Previously she was also a founding partner of a consultancy specializing in Consumer-Directed health care, and more broadly, the emerging role of consumers in health care. She holds a BA degree in Marketing/Communication from Augsburg College, Minnesota and is a member of the International Association of Business Leaders.
Stephen Sims is an Associate of InTandem Capital. He joined the team in 2016 and focuses on investment analysis and portfolio management. Prior to InTandem, Stephen was an analyst in the Industrials Group at Harris Williams & Co. focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Stephen received a B.A. in Economics from Washington and Lee University.

Paul Gustavson is a Senior Advisor at InTandem Capital. He is an author, consultant, board member, keynote speaker and leading authority on the strategy, design and sustaining of high performance teams and organizations.
He co-authored three popular books “Running into the Wind, Five Strategies for Building Successful Teams”, “The Power of Living by Design” and “A Team of Leaders, Empowering every member to take ownership, Demonstrate Initiative and Deliver Results.
He has served for over 23 years as a member of the Marriott School of Management’s OB/HR Advisory Board and as a past chair for 8 years.
Prior to establishing Organization Planning & Design Inc. in 1984, Paul held Human Resource and Organization Development Management positions with energy and high technology companies. Since establishing OPD he has consulted all over the world on exciting and challenging projects including more than twenty engagements relating to mergers and acquisitions during this period of time.
Paul’s work has been featured in over 50 books, company magazines and periodicals, including Business Week, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company and Fortune magazine.
Paul received his bachelor’s of science from Brigham Young University. Later he received his masters degree in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Tom Policelli is a Senior Advisor at InTandem Capital. He also serves as the Founder and CEO of Minuteman Health, Inc., a health insurance company in Massachusetts and Co-Founder and CEO of Averde Health Inc., a disruptive healthcare financing company in Hartford, Connecticut.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Policelli has founded or co-founded multiple healthcare companies focused on improving the delivery of health care and creating savvy health care consumers. While working for CIGNA, Tom was responsible for rebuilding a sales organization and successfully negotiated a national agreement on middle market penetration and specialty upselling opportunities. During his tenure with UnitedHealth Group, he created a financial network company for providers, consumers and employers. Mr. Policelli is a seasoned healthcare executive and an experienced corporate strategist.
Tom received a Bachelor of Arts in History, concentrating in European Imperialism in the Third World from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Michael Matteo is a Senior Advisor at InTandem Capital. He is also Executive Vice President and President of the employer market at Optum; where he leads all teams that are focused on helping employers achieve their health and well-being goals.
Previously, Mike was Optum’s chief growth officer where he helped create a market based approach across payer, provider, employer and government sectors that helped launch Optum’s extraordinary growth.
Mike joined UnitedHealth Group in 1997 as a strategic account executive and for several years was the chief executive officer of Uniprise/UnitedHealthcare National Accounts. Earlier in his career, he worked in product development and financial services where he created and launched the company’s first consumer driven health plan into the market. Prior to 1997, Mike held positions with Physicians Health Services and Traveler’s Insurance Companies in account management leadership and underwriting.
Mike graduated magna cum laude with honors in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross and attended the Columbia University Executive Management Program. He is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist. Mike serves on the board as past Chairperson of the Metro Hartford Alliance and Greater Hartford Arts Council Capital Campaign. He also currently serves on the board of the, Hartford YMCA, the Hartford Police Activities League and the Connecticut Science Center. Mike is an appointed board of director for the State of CT Capital Region Development Authority.
